For a long time, I think a significant majority of the political right in this country mistook their opposition for well-meaning or misinformed. They might have thought of them as annoying or obnoxious since the Great Awokening of the 2010s, but they still assumed good intentions for the most part.
I remember tweeting something around 2015 along the lines of “I don’t know if you can be a Democrat and truly love America,” and having a ton of politically aligned acquaintances come out of the woodwork to rebuke my statement.
I understand where they were coming from. They would point to their personal lives and say something like, “my mom is a liberal and she loves America!”
And I don’t think they were lying. But I still think I was right, particularly in hindsight.
There was a time where the differences between the right and the left in this country were much less dramatic than they are today. There wasn’t a question of whether or not you would celebrate Independence Day, regardless of the way you voted, or who was in office. And there was a time where we could come together on basic civilizational standards like “if you live in America you should speak English,” or “my tax dollars shouldn’t fund foreigners.”
But unfortunately, we’re long past it.
Unfortunately, the left, at its core, is now defined by an antipathy for America, everything that made it what it was, and everything that it’s supposed to be.
Individuals can love this country regardless of their voting registration. But to be fundamentally leftist is to be a hostile occupier of the United States.
Nearly everything they support not only degrades our culture, our way of life and our standard of living, but enriches our enemies, denigrates our people and beckons our collapse.
Granted, I don’t think every leftist understands the implications of the policies they support.
But no matter what they think they’re supporting, or what they think they’re accomplishing, they’re doing the dirty work of our adversaries.
I remember reading articles this week about Chinese nationals running a surrogacy network out of California, taking advantage of birthright citizenship, where they’d pay American women to carry their children. Shortly after the surrogates gave birth, they’d be whisked off to China, where they’d be raised as loyal subjects of the state, but with full access to come and go from the United States as they pleased, and eligible to vote in and influence our elections as soon as they turned 18.
I remember briefly wondering if any prominent or high-ranking liberal would treat it with the alarm or attention it warranted, but almost as soon as I asked myself the question I knew the answer, and how foolish I was for even entertaining an alternative outcome.
I knew that every Democrat in elected office (maybe with the exceptions of Ilhan Omar and AOC based on intellectual capacity) had to recognize the threat of our global rival enabled to exploit our immigration system like that, but I knew they didn’t care.
They know birthright citizenship was written for freed slaves; not infinity foreigners. They know it’s incentivized an unsustainable influx of illegal immigration. And now, they have proof beyond a shadow of a doubt that it’s a national security threat.
But nothing about what they’re doing or saying will change.
They didn’t care about the border crisis or its never ending list of victims, they didn’t care about installing a hospice patient as president, or the catastrophes they summoned not only on our soil but abroad in doing so, and they didn’t care about the lives, businesses and institutions they destroyed during COVID. Why would they care now?
The American Left has all of the compassion in the world for the schizophrenic “unhoused” junkie lunging at passengers on the train and screaming obscenities, but none for the junkie in Appalachia, whose town was decimated by the energy industry. They have all of the compassion in the world for an illegal immigrant that came here pregnant to “give her child a better life” but calls American mothers “pregnant persons” or “uterus owners,” and their babies “clumps of cells” while advocating for ripping them limb from limb in the womb until they emerge from the birth canal. They bloviate and bellow about evil billionaires and their devotion to the working class while they impose excessive, oppressive taxes on every mildly productive member of society so they can launder money through gay crosswalk installations downtown and foreign aid.
They don’t care about this country, her people, or what’s best for them.
America’s founding, greatness, and legacy is largely owed to white, Christian men.
I know it’s a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people, but ignoring uncomfortable truths doesn’t change them, and only seems to create chaos down the road.
That doesn’t mean no one else has contributed and that doesn’t mean that no one else can have a place here, but it does mean a movement rejoicing in the dwindling white population of the country, replacing church bells with calls to prayer, and not just encouraging suicidal empathy but relying on it aren’t simply people with minor political differences.
They have no reverence for America or what made it possible. They look at our history and see an evil empire. They look at our flag and feel indifference, shame, or indignation. They look at all we’ve been blessed with, and fantasize about throwing it away for a borderless multicultural secular experiment that has already shown every sign of failing.
Again, I don’t think anything close to every self-identified left-winger is aware of this, but I don’t know how much it matters anyway.
The highest levels of political power on the left are determined to erode the core of the American identity so they can weaken it just enough to ravage it and “radically transform” it.
Their end goal has never been to win hearts and minds; it’s always been to get what they want by any means necessary. Since their endless appeals to the native population of this country often failed on the majority, they’re importing voters to replace them, they took control of our education so they could mold minds at their most malleable, and they did it all in secret, behind closed doors, lying through their teeth until they’d been so successful they didn’t think it mattered.
The political right is far from perfect. On one end of the spectrum we have politicians collecting American paychecks while serving Israel, and on the other end we have people so consumed with Israel that they were willing to accept a Kamala Harris presidency to spite Zionists.
But the political left isn’t just reckless, and they aren’t just incompetent. They’re an insidious, subversive antagonist depending on your politeness, on your tepidity and on your ignorance to succeed. Start acting like it.
