Weekend In NYC

It was definitely a dry week on the blog, and that was mostly due to my inefficient blog scheduling in preparation for my weekend in NYC, where I knew I wouldn’t be accomplishing anything besides consuming my weight in alcohol and food.

The birthday girl is third from the left. Unfortunately, between my phone storage and my inebriation, I didn’t get any good pictures of the city or the amazing views, drinks or food we had.

We stopped for brunch Sunday morning before it was time to hit the road, and I’m so glad that we did. My lox and onion omelette was otherworldly.

Despite the fact that I’m dead broke (not the Hillary Clinton kind either) and probably twice the weight I was at the beginning of the weekend, it was a great weekend. It was a weekend to remember, despite how little of the weekend I actually remember, and I’m glad that the last of the squad is finally legal!

  • Shake shack opened a location near my apartment so I’m just looking at my feet while I can still see them before I gain the inevitable 90 lbs

  • Is it really Veterans Day if you don’t post a granddaddy pic? It’s easy to get wrapped up in feel good quotes and talking points on Veterans Day — and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a day we set aside to celebrate the men and women that decided to put service above self. But if we’re truly going to honor service and sacrifice, we don’t stop at what feels good or what’s easy to talk about — we address veteran homelessness, veteran suicide, post deployment reintegration, VA reform — and most importantly we resist unnecessary war that puts our troops in unnecessary danger. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
