[Members Only] When You Love The Sinner & Know You Should Hate The Sin…But Don’t

I meet a lot of people.

Sometimes that’s just a polite conversation, sometimes it’s an exchange of social media handles, sometimes it’s a drink or lunch, and every once in a while, it’s a friend.

Not like someone you see a few times a year and invite to a party to get the numbers up, but someone that you come to genuinely know, value, and cherish. Eventually, you might struggle to imagine your life without them.

I made one of those friends when I desperately needed one.

We’re both in our 30s, goofy and love to party, but beyond that we don’t really have all that much in common on paper.

She’s a bohemian liberal and I’m…whatever I am.

But it doesn’t really seem to matter.

I enjoy her company more than almost anyone. And it’s not like it’s just a surface level relationship that depends on bar hopping and happy hours, but has no substance.

We avoid politics, but we talk about just about everything else with depth and sincerity.

And I think she’s one of the best people I’ve ever known.

Earlier this year, she started dating someone.

At first I didn’t think much of it but as time went on I realized that this wasn’t just some guy.

She really liked him, and he really liked her.

A few months ago, the three of us hung out, and seeing how they interacted, I was elated for her. He treated her so well and seemed truly enamored. And as her insecurities seemed to grow in tandem with her feelings for him, I knew it was mutual.

She recently told me that on the days they spent together, she was having the most frequent and best sex of her life.

Like, twice a day on the low end.

And I know that as a Christian, I wasn’t supposed to react the way I did.
