I believe in uplifting what you love as opposed to wasting energy spreading negativity by bad mouthing what you hate, but I am 500% over Kim Kardashian being upheld as some kind of beacon of empowerment or feminist icon.
The people that are trying to convince the masses that she is this generation’s Joan of Arc say that she turned a betrayal of her trust into an empire, but is that really the case?
Kim Kardashian was a rich nobody that was so desperate to climb the social ladder that she would allow Paris Hilton to openly berate and insult her, so long as she was able to be seen in public with her.
And after seeing how much publicity Paris Hilton received after her sex tape went public, what better way to force herself into the spotlight than by leaking a tape with a well enough known celebrity, but one not important enough to have anything to lose with this publicity stunt?
There has been talk for years of the entire ordeal being orchestrated, and while I’ll admit that nothing has been proven concretely, common sense would lead anyone to believe that her sex tape was not leaked without her consent. Ray J didn’t leak it, and since no one is being accused of anything or sued, no one has any interest in proving that Kim leaked it herself.
I can’t speak for everyone but my disdain for Kim Kardashian certainly isn’t a result of sexism or misogyny, but because there is no integrity in anything she does. Her entire career is a result of her gluttonous and unquenchable thirst for attention. I am exhausted with the gross saturation of this talentless family in the media and the fact that someone that contributes so little to society has become culturally significant enough to appear on the cover of Vogue.
