After months of inactivity, The Pretty Patriot is back at it with a new look, a new team, and a new mission.
I’ve been working full time at my big girl job since the beginning of summer and I frankly lack the words to describe the experience. I have never cried so much in my adult life but I have also never been as in love with what I do or as proud to do what I do as I am now. Humility is a word that I feel is used too much and disingenuously, but I have been truly humbled by the talent and brilliance by the people I’ve been blessed enough to call coworkers.
Simply put, my job will always come first, because my job is the most important thing that I do. Too many young conservative millennials think that their hot takes and viral tweets will change the world when they more often than not have become too self involved to become useful to the cause they think they’re fighting for.
But I love writing, and I love this blog. So I’ve sought out other young right of center talent so that The Pretty Patriot can not only continue in the midst of my increasingly hectic schedule, but evolve.
While this platform’s primary use was once for me to speak my mind and voice my unpopular opinions, my goal is to see it transform into a testament of the diversity of the right. No, not seeking out Asian paraplegic lesbian conservatives to prove a point, but to demonstrate that we aren’t a monolith by any stretch of the imagination. We care about sports and fashion and culture. We’re from all over the world. We have different stories and backgrounds and experiences that shaped our identities and beliefs, and we’re honestly 1000x more interesting than the played out narrative that has been dominating the media.
So here’s to the new beginnings, and new conversations.
