Don’t Call Me Sheerly

image imageimageimage

I first came across this gorgeous dress on Wanelo, but was unable to purchase it through the app when I tried to. I then began hunting for it through every corner of the internet, and finally found it on Slimskii. I was truly impressed with Slimskii as it shipped less than an hour after I ordered it, and I received it one business day later. My one issue with the dress was the extremely tricky zipper, but my tailor put in a new one for me. I love dresses that are modest enough to wear to church, but stylish and fun enough that you don’t have to change after the fact for any other plans you may have on Sunday. This is one of those dresses. The necklace is from Tello’s, the bag is from Aldo Accessories and the sandals are from White House | Black Market.

  • I work hard because I have a dream of stacking hundreds on each blade of a ceiling fan above my bed (that will be mostly ornamental because I’ll have central air) and making it rain

  • It would be nice if 60° in nova/dc actually meant one thing instead of anywhere from 40° to 80° so I could pack these boots away until the fall once and for all
  • Yesterday while watching the updates roll in on Notre Dame, I couldn’t help but feel discouraged as I read tweet after tweet from people wanting to believe and see the worst in the world. It had to be arson. It had to be terrorism. It had to represent the end of civilization as we know it. But then I remembered that the internet isn’t real life, and even if human nature leaves all of us exposed to and malleable by hate and fear, most people are good. And I don’t know if the glory of a masterpiece that was constructed over the course of 2 centuries can ever be repeated, but I know that beautiful things are born from tragedy. Something iconic and special has been lost, but I like to believe something iconic and special will come of it. I usually only feel this when I watch les mis, but vive la France. New blog post, link in bio.
