About
Once upon a time, I was a doe-eyed college freshman studying fashion communications and following the advice of a professor, I decided to start a blog. As I have developed and evolved personally, politically and professionally, so has my platform. What was once a goofy fashion blog hosted on Tumblr and updated twice a year has grown into a brand hated by many, loved by more, but most importantly authentic with all.
As I made the slow transformation from Obama loving liberal to Cruz campaigning conservative, it became clear to me that the popular caricature of the political right couldn’t be further from reality. As the media insists that everyone on one side of the aisle look the same, act the same, and are motivated by hatred, ignorance and fear my own experience and those of countless others prove otherwise.
The goal of The Pretty Patriot is simple, and it’s to humanize the movement that I love so dearly. Conservatives aren’t a monolith. We aren’t all rich, we aren’t all white, and we aren’t all men. Some of us like blue grass. Some of us like EDM. Some of us believe in God, some of us don’t. Some of us love Trump, and some of us hate him. Some of us can’t wait to get married and start families, and some of us are only thinking as far ahead as the next weekend. And the sooner that both the left and right not only embrace but accept that, the better off we’ll all be.
